Day 4 Bodensee to Zell am See - Into the Alps
A transition stage from lake country to true alpine terrain through Bregenzerwald, Hochtannbergpass, Lechtal, and Fernpass.
Leaving Lake Constance behind, the route gradually shifts from rolling countryside into the first real alpine landscapes. Bregenzerwald delivers smooth mountain roads, traditional alpine villages, and flowing curves that build rhythm without draining energy. Hochtannbergpass is the first proper mountain crossing, followed by the underrated Lechtal valley with open sweepers and steady elevation changes ideal for larger touring bikes. Fernpass completes the transition, and arrival in Zell am See brings cooler air, higher peaks, and a clear sense that the trip has shifted from travel to expedition.
